Hancock Movie Sunglasses starring Will Smith

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

I have been getting a lot of requests for the sunglasses from the movie Hancock starring Will Smith so i have made a list of the ones I have seen in the preview that he wears.

1. will_smith_hancock_3.jpgAs I mentioned in my previous blog post the bug-eyed looking sunglasses are the Dior Black Mist 1. They were discontinued so it will be hard to find them anywhere other than Ebay. I have to warn you that they are a wierd fit and can’t be worn by everyone.

2. In the preview Will Smith is wearing a pair of Fitovers (Navigator Black Matte Frame sunglasses) which is odd because in the movie he doesnt need perscription glasses. you can find these here.

Please email me if there is any other pair of sunglasses you need and i will try to find them for you as soon as possible.

Ray-Ban: Pair of Great Polarized Sunglasses at an unbeatable price

Friday, June 27th, 2008

The first thing I noticed about this pair of sunglasses was the fact that next to the Ray-Ban signature on the lens of the glasses was a P next to it. I asked the sales rep what the P was all about and because I knew from looking at them they were definately not knock-offs. He told me that the P=Polarized. For those of you who don’t know what Polarized is I will explain it briefly. Light travels in different waves and the Polarization blocks out certain light waves while letting other in. Anyways, back to the review, I never owned a pair of polarized sunglasses before because the price for polarized sunglasses was always much more expensive in designer sunglasses but I was exited to see how inexpensive these sunglasses were. A note I would like to make is that if you are looking for a pair of inexpensive, lower profile pair of sunglasses, here they are. They were 129.95 for this pair of Ray-Ban P  RB4034. They are very good driving sunglasses from how dark the lenses are and plus they are polarized. For driving purposes the polarization makes lines on the road more visible, even if you come across a strip of highway in which the lines have been faded from years of use. These are some of the most comfortable sunglasses I have ever owned and one can wear these for hours without hurting your head or even noticing that you are even wearing them. These sunglasses are also great for the beach. Like I said before they block a lot of sunlight which is necessary considering how much sunlight that reflects off the sand. These glasses are very durable, I couldn’t scratch these no matter what I tried. One other thing I would like to point about these sunglasses is how flexible they are. Anyone can wear these comfortably because how well they bend without breaking. As you have seen in previous posts I like to go for more flashy sunglasses but I realy liked these. They are really the classic style of sunglasses that look like the person wearing them is ready for anything. The polarized lenses spoiled me and I think once you go polarized you can’t go back!

Hancock: Average Superhero, not so average choice in sunglasses.

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008
In the beginning of the trailer for the new movie Hancock you see Will Smith rockin’ some bug-eyed looking sunglasses. These are the Dior Black Mist 1. I was stooked to go and get these glasses to try out and I was disappointed to find out that they had been discontinued. What? They put these glasses in a movie and then discontinue them. I asked the sales rep about them and she had the Dior Black Mist 2 on sale for only 149.99. These sunglasses are virtually the same thing except for how big the lenses are. In the 2’s they are significantly smaller. For Dior these are a very sporty style of sunglasses. The reverse frame makes them look different but really cool. The 1’s however were a very weird fit and don’t fit many people. When i bought these I was exited to be virtually the same glasses as Will Smith. I was very impressed with these glasses in a few ways. I was nervous when i tried them on that they would be too tight. They were a tight fit but I bought them anyway. Surprisingly as tight as these were i didn’t get any headaches from them. They stayed on my head very well for glasses without even a hint of rubber to keep them on. Also the attention to detail with these is impressive. Where the frame meets the hinges is perfectly smooth and aligned. By the lettering they are very unisex. They will fit guys or girls great. The uniqueness and originality of the design is stunning. The hinges are very stylish and  The stem (extending piece that keeps them on your ears) gets smaller the farther back you go. The only con of these glasses is that they are meant for people with a slightly lower face in proportion to the ears. To fit these around your eyes completely your face needs to be slightly lower than your ears. It seems there is an ever growing need these days for sunglasses with fade in the lenses. These are no different but they definitely block sunlight very well towards the top of the lens. My recommendation is that these are very good glasses to wear to the club or the beach, but preferably the beach.

Oakley: Always Rugged Style, or Stylish Style too?

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Usually Oakley is known for their rugged style of sunglasses so I was curious to see if these were any different. From first look they look like a fragile pair of sunglasses that wouldn’t uphold the Oakley standard of indestructibility. These are the Oakley Conducts. The first point that I want to make about these sunglasses that you probably already noticed about is the vibrant colors of the lens. I would also like to point out that Oakley has always made a cheap but good pair of sunglasses and these are no different coming in at only $115. Depending on the lighting they are mostly purple with some green and blue here and there. It seems that sunglasses with a single lens are becoming more popular and it goes well with these glasses. When I took these to the pool I figured people wouldnt like the level of flashiness these had but people really liked them and I got a lot of good comments and one person even asked where I got them. When you look at these in the shade or in the store you can easily see through so the lenses so the level of protection was unclear. To my surprise they blocked a good amount of sunlight and I virtually never had to squint my eyes. I got them wet in the pool to test how hard it would be to clean the lenses. Oakley is known for their easy to clean sunglasses so I wanted to test this. When the chlorinated water dried I took my sunglasses cleaning cloth alone and it did the job perfectly without having to use a spray lens cleaner. These glasses are really flexible. They bend out very far without breaking and therefore these glasses can be worn by just about anyone with a smaller head or even people with a big head without fear of breaking. My recommendation is that these are a good pair for the beach as long as you have a good tan. If you don’t have a good tan then the white from the stem of the glasses will make you look ridiculous.

Ralph Lauren: Great Clothes, but Great Sunglasses?

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

Ralph Lauren Polo has always made good clothes that I wear almost daily, but I didn’t know about sunglasses. I wanted to find out so I found this pair of Polo 4022. I really liked that it had the horse emblem on each side of the sunglasses and said Polo on the right of the lens.  These glasses were great! I was impressed with the amount of sunlight was blocked with the very dark black lenses. If you have ever owned a pair of sunglasses you know that a lot of them force you to still squint when you are wearing them and the sun is at full blast but these were different. I had no trouble seeing without having to squint my eyes and could almost look directly at the sun without my eyes hurting. I would definitely have to say these glasses are meant for people with a smaller head because they fit pretty tight and occasionally gave me headaches if I wore them too long. But on the bright side when I put them on the top of my head they didn’t budge. One of the biggest cons about these sunglasses is when I was wearing them I would always think there was some sort of smudge on them because I would see it in the corner of my eyes. The smudges turned out to be the reflection of my face. With these glasses it will be hard for you to tell the difference without taking them off. The texture and glossiness of these glasses was stunning. The lenses show nothing to onlookers while walking on the beach so yes you can look at things in the corner of your eyes without people knowing what you are really looking at. These are great everyday sunglasses and almost anyone could wear them and look good with them on!
